JefferiesTech Trek

Jefferies is a leading financial services company, headquartered in New York.

Tech Trek, a strategic 3 day event in Tel Aviv, was organized to align with the opening of their office in Israel. It was the largest institutional investor event ever held here, with over 250 investors representing $10 trillion of AUM.

The opening reception was attended by leading figures from across the financial world, and included a keynote by former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, and introductions by the leadership team at Jefferies.

Looking on at the opening reception - Joseph Steinberg (far right) Jefferies’ Chairman.

Day 1 started with a lavish buffet - hosted by Jefferies for the event attendees - in the central foyer of the conference space.

Day 1 firesides featured in-depth interviews with luminaries such as Anton Levy, Managing Director of General Atlantic (left) seen here in conversation with Rich Handler, Jefferies’ CEO…

and Yifat Oron (Senior Managing Director & Head of Israel, Blackstone, center) here with Raphael de Botton (Senior Managing Director, Blackstone Tactical Opportunities, left) moderated by Shannon Murphy (Head of Strategic Content, Jefferies, right).

Day 1 ended with a celebratory party, thrown at the lovely Loullie beach bar on the Tel-Aviv waterfront.

Day 2 included a fireside with Tomer Bar Zeev (CEO & Co-Founder, ironSource) & Raphael Bejarano (Global Co-Head of Investment Banking, Jefferies)

In perhaps what was the highlight of a series of fascinating day 2 firesides, Jacob Frenkel, (former Governor of the Bank of Israel & Chairman of JPMorgan Chase International), was hosted by David Zervos (Chief Market Strategist, Jefferies) and shared his thoughts on market volatility and future investment horizons.

The incredibly well received event, attended by some 250 global financial firms closed in style with a cocktail event hosted in ‘The Common’, The Kempinski Hotel’s lavish lounge bar, where guests ate, drank and continued networking into the night.

The Long & Short Of It.

The event offered a rare opportunity to hear the leading lights of the global financial community share their insights - in what is an unusually volatile and erratic macroeconomic environment.

The underlying takeaway was singular - the strength of Israel’s high tech sector and its growing maturity are attracting some of the world’s largest PE and VC firms - and they are here to do business.
